Your chickens will naturally roll around in it, destroying lice, mites and ticks. It may even help keep internal parasites at bay, too.

Diatomaceous earth is completely safe and non-toxic. It's a fine white powder made of the tiny fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of algae. "DE," as it's known, is a desiccant causes tiny insects to die of dehydration.

Plus, ours is food-grade, so it's completely safe for your pet chickens and to eat eggs. Add 1 pound for every 50 pounds of feed to prevent caking and help with internal parasites.
